This online course will cover
the basics
of ICD-9-CM coding. It is not an advanced course,
but will
provide you with the basics of diagnosis coding
along with
practice exercises, section tests and a final exam.
The
course has twelve sections and uses the
International
Classifications of Diseases, Volume 9, Clinical
Modification
(ICD-9) manual, Volumes 1 & 2.
The answers to
all coding
exercises and section tests will be from the 2010
edition of
the ICD-9-CM Coding Manual.
You will need the most
recent version of the ICD-9-CM Code Book to complete this course.
This
course is pre-approved for 6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
by the American Medical Billing Association
